So Much More to See and Do in October in Southwick!

Earlier this month we did a walking tour of our favorite spots near The Greens. FallFest at Westfield River Brewing Company was fabulous! To take advantage of all the great things we need to see and do,we are going to have to get in the car. The colors are fabulous and the weather is beautiful.

Our first stop is the landmark Mrs. Murphy’s for some cinnamon donuts and pumpkin spice coffee to take to the dock at Middle Pond to watch the birds and the fishermen.

Next stop is a short hike at The Granville Gorge where the foliage amidst the rocks and stream is spectacular. Now we are heading to Meadowview Farms for some Halloween cornstalks, some gourd, pumpkins and some gigantic mums.

A short distance from here is Blossoming Acres where we are having a hard time deciding between homemade pies,  breads and muffins. Next stop is Southwick Campgrounds to check out a site for our southern friends coming to enjoy the fall in New England.

The lunch choices are abundant….do we have ribs at Smokey Waters Barbeque, homemade soup and a club sandwich at The Launch, or a burger and fries at The Summer House? We decide to sit on the deck at The Launch to enjoy the view of the foliage on the water.

As we intend to bike ride for the afternoon, we head home to grab our bikes and head out to the Southwick Rail Trail. Now we have a close up view of all of the trees and are getting to enjoy a fabulous warm breezy fall afternoon.

It has been a full day and we head back to The Greens to enjoy sunset from the front porch.
