Get Ready for October in Southwick…..
October has arrived. Hands down, it is my favorite month of the year. There is so much to see and do, and taste and smell in and around Southwick! Some of these things are within walking distance from The Greens of Southwick. Today I am taking you on my walking tour from The Greens.
First on the list is Ray’s Family Farm https://www.facebook.com/Rays-Family-Farm-229776777076781/ where harvest time is apparent with baskets of tomatoes, peppers, onions, butternut squash and more along with all fall mums and cornstalks for decorating your new home. Don’t forget your farm fresh eggs and some horseradish pickles! Okay, maybe you are going to have to run back home and get the car…..
When you are done cooking and decorating, how about a round of golf directly across the street at The Ranch https://www.theranchgolfclub.com/ You don't golf? No worries, there is a beautiful patio outside of the Pub House restaurant where you can sit and enjoy your favorite beverage and watch the golfers or just enjoy the beautiful view. Thinking about having a party with more guests than you can fit? Very conveniently, The Ranch has a beautiful barn venue to accomodate showers, anniversaries and more!
The third spot on the walking tour is Westfield RIver Brewing http://www.westfieldriverbrewing.com/ another great spot for your favorite beverage and maybe some thick cut slab bacon? Don’t forget to buy your tickets for Fall Fest on October 12th, the brewery’s annual fall outdoor event at their fabulous venue overlooking the farm featuring vendors, food trucks and live music.
Last but not least on my walking tour is D & J’s Hash House https://www.facebook.com/DJs-Hash-House-193882637426209/ a favorite for breakfast and lunch. It is the furthest walk but will give you a chance to burn off those delicious
pumpkin pancakes with maple syrup while enjoying the fall foliage.
